Light Pond and the Secret Garden is a large public art installation commissioned for a pediatric lobby of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston Ma. (12’ X 8’ X 15 “ deep).

DFCI has healing gardens and a wonderful art collection that its patients appreciate immensely. Light Pond was commissioned by staff, patients, and families for the hospital’s youngest patient. Connors chose to create a holographic pond landscape of familiar local foliage and pond creatures, including computer controlled ‘fireflies’. Connors is often reminded by the hospital’s only curator that her best job, maintaining the work, is to clean the small fingerprints off the protective front.
